Republic of Turkey Citizenship Applications
For foreigners who want to acquire Turkish citizenship;

For citizenship;

-To be an adult and have the power to distinguish according to his own national law, or if he is stateless, according to Turkish laws,
-Residing in Turkey for five years uninterruptedly from the date of application,
-Confirming with his/her behavior that he/she has decided to settle in Turkey,
- Not having a disease that poses a danger to general health,
-Having good morals,
-Being able to speak enough Turkish,
– To have an income or a profession that will provide a living for oneself and one's dependents in Turkey,
-There must be no situation that would constitute an obstacle in terms of national security and public order.

Foreigners who wish to acquire Turkish citizenship may be required to renounce their state citizenship, in addition to the conditions listed above. The determination of the principles regarding the exercise of this discretion is under the authority of the Council of Ministers.

Obtaining a Residence Permit in Türkiye
Foreigners who have a valid residence permit will be able to enter or exit the country exempt from visa permits. If the foreign person staying in Turkey with a residence permit reaches the end of the permit period and still meets the conditions, he/she can extend his residence permit at the provincial governorships where he resides without having to leave the country. Or, if he/she meets the necessary conditions for another residence permit, he/she can switch to the residence permit for his/her new status.

-According to the practice regulated by the Foreigners and International Protection Law No. 6458 in residence permit application procedures; Accompaniment practice has been abolished and each foreigner's application and permit document will be issued separately.

-18/05/2015 Since the immigration administration appointment system is not yet sufficient, most of our foreign citizens still experience major problems in obtaining a residence permit. Especially the reorganization of extension procedures with the logic of work permit puts our foreign citizens in a difficult situation.

-Another innovation implemented by Law No. 6458 is that the work permit replaces the residence permit. In accordance with Article 27 of the Law, if the foreigner obtains a work permit; Additionally, there is no need to obtain a residence permit and they have the right to stay in Turkey during the work permit.

Obtaining a Work Permit in Türkiye

The following points apply to obtaining a work permit in companies;

At least five (5) Turkish Republics in the workplace where a work permit is requested. It is mandatory for the citizen to be working as a SGK member. If a work permit is requested for more than one foreigner in the same workplace; Five (5) T.R. numbers for each foreigner after the first foreigner granted a work permit. Employment of citizens will be sought. (If the foreigner requesting the permit is a company partner, the five-person employment requirement is required for the last six months of the one-year work permit to be issued by the Ministry.) In addition, the e-declaration officer in the company must have an E-signature (Electronic Signature) as of 26.02.2018.

The paid-in capital of the workplace must be at least 100,000 TL, or its gross sales must be at least 800,000 TL, or its last year's export amount must be at least 250,000 USD.

Article 2 for permit requests for foreigners to work in associations and foundations; In the evaluation of work permit applications of foreigners who will work in the Turkish representative offices of foreign state airlines, in the education sector and in domestic services; Articles 1 and 2 will not apply.

The foreign company partner requesting permission must have a capital share of at least 20 percent, not less than 40,000 TL.

Salary amounts to be paid to foreigners; The monthly wage amount declared by the employer to be paid to the foreigner must be at a level compatible with the foreigner's duties and competence.

Fee to be paid to foreigners
a) 6.5 times the minimum wage for senior managers, pilots and engineers and architects who request preliminary permits,

b) 4 times the minimum wage for unit or branch managers, engineers and architects,
c) 3 times the minimum wage for those who will work in jobs requiring expertise and mastery and for teachers,
d) Minimum minimum wage for foreigners to be employed in domestic services, in other professions other than those listed above; For foreigners who will work in positions such as sales personnel, marketing-export officer, the minimum wage must be 1.5 times.
Proving that they have a licensed massage parlour; Requests from tourism establishments with at least four stars certified by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and holiday villages that require expertise and mastery, such as masseurs, masseuses and SPA therapists, will be evaluated. Requests from businesses and workplaces that are not within this scope will not be deemed appropriate.
